{"id":890427,"date":"2026-09-13T11:06:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-13T11:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/890427\/"},"modified":"2026-09-13T11:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-13T11:06:10","slug":"cmat-brought-the-irish-language-to-the-snl-uk-stage-in-her-debut-as-musical-guest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/890427\/","title":{"rendered":"CMAT brought the Irish language to the SNL UK stage in her debut as musical guest"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>    <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@SaturdayNightLiveUK\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Saturday Night Live UK<\/a> \/ YouTube<\/p>\n<p>CMAT FEATURED AS the musical guest on the first episode of the new series of Saturday Night Live (SNL) UK last night.<\/p>\n<p>The Co Meath singer performed the song Euro-Country from her 2025 album of the same name, as well as her 2023 song Stay For Something.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The intro to Euro-Country, a song which reflects on the fallout of the 2008 recession, includes over 40 seconds of CMAT singing in Irish.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oscar-nominated actor Jeff Goldblum hosted as the live variety and comedy show kicked off its second season.<\/p>\n<p>Comments praising CMAT\u2019s performance have flooded social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s our girl!
