A.J. Ewart shot 59 a year ago in the Victoria Open.<\/p>\n<p>Cottam had six birdies in a seven-hole stretch for a 29 on the front nine, and he played the final four holes in 4 under with the eagle on the 16th He got up-and-down for par from just off the green on the 18th hole.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was absolutely surprised,\u201d Cottam said. \u201cObviously, you don\u2019t wake up in the morning and think you\u2019re going to shoot 58.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cottam had the sixth sub-60 round on the PGA Tour Americas since 2024.
