Brad Pitt’s<\/a> “F1: The Movie<\/a>” is now whizzing on TV screens across the U.S. with its digital release this week.<\/p>\n From the filmmakers of \u201cTop Gun: Maverick<\/a>,\u201d “F1: The Movie” follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt<\/a>), “Formula 1\u2019s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career,” earning him the title of \u201cthe greatest that never was,” the film’s synopsis says.<\/p>\n Three decades later, the now nomadic racer-for-hire is approached by his former teammate and owner of a struggling Formula 1 team on the verge of collapse, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who convinces Sonny to return to the race “for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world.” On the tracks, Sonny is paired with Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), “the team’s hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace.”<\/p>\n “As the engines roar, Sonny\u2019s past catches up with him and he finds that in Formula 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition\u2014and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone,” the film’s synopsis adds.<\/p>\n The adrenaline-filled film<\/a> was shot “during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport,” according to the film’s synopsis.
