\n\tZack Snyder<\/a>\u2018s The Last Photograph<\/a> had its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival<\/a> on Sunday, and the first reactions to the filmmaker\u2019s 13th feature are decidedly mixed.<\/p>\n

\n\tDebuting in TIFF<\/a>\u2018s \u201cspecial events\u201d section, The Last Photograph is an action thriller that Snyder directed from a screenplay by Kurt Johnstad, who co-wrote Snyder\u2019s previous two features, 2023\u2019s Rebel Moon \u2013 Part One: A Child of Fire and 2024\u2019s Rebel Moon \u2013 Part Two: The Scargiver. <\/p>\n

\n\tA plot synopsis for the film reads, \u201cAn ex-DEA agent searches South American mountains for his murdered diplomat siblings\u2019 children, aided by a junkie photographer who saw the killers, confronting past demons as reality blurs in remote wilderness.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Last Photograph stars Scottish actor Stuart Martin and Northern Irish actor Fra Fee. Snyder\u2019s longtime collaborator Hans Zimmer, alongside Omer Benyamin and Steven Doar, composed the film\u2019s music.<\/p>\n

\n\tA passion project for Snyder, The Last Photograph is based on an original story from the filmmaker and he has been developing the idea for two decades.<\/a> He also served as cameraman and cinematographer on the project. <\/p>\n

\n\tNotably, this is also Snyder\u2019s first independent film, as no studio or streamer was involved in the production. The move was produced by Snyder and Deborah Snyder\u2019s The Stone Quarry and Gianni Nunnari\u2019s Hollywood Gang Productions. <\/p>\n
