The Big East released the men’s basketball schedule on Monday, Sept. 14.

The Blue Demons kick off Big East play against St. John’s at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 19. The Blue Demons then return home for their first Big East home game on Dec. 30 against the Seton Hall Pirates.

The Blue Demons announced their non-conference schedule on July 6. The non-conference slate includes four matchups against teams that were in the 2026 NCAA Tournament: Southern Methodist University (SMU), South Florida, Purdue and Saint Louis.

“This is no doubt the most challenging non-conference schedule we’ve put together in our three seasons at DePaul, and I’m not sure it’s close to be honest,” head coach Chris Holtmann said in the non-conference schedule release. “Playing four teams that competed in last year’s NCAA Tournament, along with the overall quality of all our opponents, will challenge our team from day one. It’s something we are excited about.”

“The goal is to best prepare ourselves as we compete in what we believe will be one of the best conferences in college basketball this season in the Big East Conference,” Holtmann said.

The Blue Demons will play two exhibition games: an away game against Loyola Chicago on Oct. 18 and a home game against Notre Dame on Oct. 23.

DePaul starts the season on Nov. 2 with a home matchup against West Georgia. The Blue Demons then play South Florida on Nov. 5 and Alabama A&M on Nov. 9 at home.

The Blue Demons have a chance to gain some momentum before their first away matchup in the non-conference schedule at Northwestern on Nov. 13.

The Blue Demons return to Wintrust Arena one more time on Nov. 17 to face Maryland Eastern Shore before participating in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where they play Purdue on Nov. 24 and Pitt on Nov. 26.

DePaul is back at Wintrust Arena on Dec. 1, facing North Alabama. The Blue Demons host SMU on Dec. 5 and Maine on Dec. 8 before facing Saint Louis on the road on Dec. 12.

The non-conference schedule ends with a Dec. 22 home matchup against Canisius.

The Blue Demons are looking to build on their 2025-26 season, where they finished 16-16 overall and 8-12 in Big East play.

They earned the No. 6 seed in the Big East Tournament, but fell to the No. 11 seed Georgetown Hoyas in the first round.

The Blue Demons added six players via the transfer portal: Ade Popoola, Magoon Gwath, Koree Cotton, Noah Meeusen, Kahmare Holmes and Wilson Jacques in the transfer portal. They also added three freshmen, players Noah Smith, Andrew Jensen and Mason Lockett IV.

Layden Blocker, Kruz McClure, Théo Pierre-Justin, Fabián Flores, Amsal Delalić, Jonas Johnson and Nate Kasher all returned to the Blue Demons from last season.

The Blue Demons round out Big East play against Marquette at home on March 6.

The Big East Tournament then runs from March 10-13.
