FRISCO, Texas\u00a0\u2014\u00a0The Texas women’s golf team got the season underway with the opening 36 holes at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup Monday at Field Ranch East at PGA Frisco.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Longhorns shot rounds of 6-over and even par to open the tournament. Their 6-over 582 has them in fourth place on the team leaderboard and three shots back of third place. South Carolina leads the field at 9-under and Wake Forest is second at 8-under. Oregon is in third place at 3-over.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Longhorns closed strong in the second round as they played the final six holes in eight-under-par. Amy Lee<\/a> and Lauren Kim<\/a> each birdied three holes in that stretch.\u00a0<\/p>\n On the individual side 2026 NCAA Champion Farah O’Keefe<\/a> put together rounds of 71-71 for a score of 2-under and tied for third on the leaderboard. O’Keefe is four shots back of the lead heading into the final round of stroke play tomorrow.\u00a0<\/p>\n Selina Liao<\/a> is T12 at 1-over, Lauren Kim<\/a> is T16 at 2-over, freshman Amy Lee<\/a> is 27th\u00a0at 8-over and Isla McDonald-O’Brien<\/a> is T28 at 9-over.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Longhorns will start the final 18 holes of stroke play tomorrow at 12:24 p.m. central time off hole 10.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Lineup\u00a0<\/p>\n Farah O’Keefe<\/a> made back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 in the second round of the tournament and finished the day at 2-under-par and T3 on the individual leaderboard.\u00a0<\/p>\n Selina Liao<\/a> turned in the best round of the day for a Texas player with her 2-under 70 over the first 18 holes of the tournament. Liao made three birdies and one bogey in her opening round and is T12 for the tournament at 1-over.\u00a0<\/p>\n Lauren Kim<\/a> played her final six holes in 3-under and carded rounds of 73-73 for a total of 2-over and T16.\u00a0<\/p>\n
