\n Brisbane has signed one of their best players to a lucrative new contract extension\n <\/p>\n

LOGAN Morris is on the verge of signing a two-year contract extension with Brisbane.<\/p>\n
Already contracted for next year, the new deal would tie him to the Lions until at least the end of 2029.<\/p>\n
AFL.com.au revealed last week the 21-year-old was keen to open talks with the club, and things have progressed quickly, with the young star hoping to wrap up negotiations before season\u2019s end.<\/p>\n
“There’s no point of just dragging it out if I know what I’m doing,\u201d Morris said.<\/p>\n
“I know I want to stay at the club. I want to play my footy here, and I’m happy where I am.<\/p>\n
“I just come in this club every day with a smile on my face, knowing that I can have fun, but also get to work, and it’s fun playing in a team that is playing for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

His signature comes just a week after in-demand free agent Zac Bailey turned his back on a mega offer from Adelaide to remain with the two-time premiers.<\/p>\n
Morris was set to be one of the biggest name players out of contract in 2027, with clubs from his home state of Victoria queueing up for his services.<\/p>\n
The contract is believed to be around $900,000 a season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don’t want to leave a team where I’m happy where I am mentally, and have a good group of mates, so I guess I feel like that’s more valuable than a bit more money to me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think playing with a good team that’s got good values and playing with all my mates is more valuable to me than a bit more money. So that’s what it ultimately come down to.\u201d<\/p>\n
The No.31 pick from the 2023 AFL Draft has had an incredible first three seasons in the big time, winning two flags and being named an All-Australian for the first time this year.<\/p>\n
