Guenther Steiner has called out Lando Norris<\/a> for being unprofessional after the reigning world champion clapped back when he was told he couldn\u2019t drink a Coca-Cola in the cooldown room after the Spanish Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

Pepsi is an official partner of Formula 1, having signed a partnership last season, but it was the drink company\u2019s main rival Coca-Cola that made the headlines at the Madring.<\/p>\n

Guenther Steiner criticises Lando Norris over Coca-Cola incident<\/p>\n

Having finished third at the Spanish Grand Prix, Norris<\/a> joined race winner Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen in the cooldown room ahead of the podium celebration.<\/p>\n

As the trio watched the highlights from the race, Norris was drinking a Coke only to be told by an official that he could not drink it.<\/p>\n

He gave that short shrift.<\/p>\n

\u201cI might get told off,\u201d Norris said to Antonelli before addressing the official.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just did a race, so I\u2019m allowed to drink whatever I like. Thank you so much,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Former Haas team principal Steiner called Norris\u2019s actions unprofessional, as drivers know they aren\u2019t allowed branded drinks in the cooldown room.<\/p>\n

But, at the end of the day, it is a mountain out of a molehill.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are a professional, you don\u2019t do that. End of story,\u201d he told The Red Flags podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know what you can do and what you cannot do. You\u2019re well trained. He shouldn\u2019t have done it. <\/p>\n

\u201cIs it a bad thing that he did it? Will somebody get hurt? No. But as a pro, you shouldn\u2019t do it. But he has done it. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you know what? I couldn\u2019t give a s***.\u201d<\/p>\n

It could be argued that if the official had not told him not to drink the Coca-Cola, no one would\u2019ve noticed.<\/p>\n

But now it is a headline.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all going by categories,\u201d Steiner said. \u201cThey sell it and obviously if you don\u2019t pay, you cannot have it. And he had a Coke. It was not the smartest thing to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut as I said, I don\u2019t care because now, for Coca-Cola, it worked out pretty good. It was pretty good for [Coca-Cola]. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf they wouldn\u2019t have said anything, nobody would have even noticed, but because it was so bumped up now it\u2019s a thing, and now Coca-Cola is laughing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Norris\u2019 third place in Spain left him 106 points behind Antonelli in the fight for the F1 2026 Drivers\u2019 Championship.<\/p>\n
