The chief of Netflix has finally addressed reports that the Duchess of Sussex is set to join the cast of one of the streamer\u2019s hit shows.<\/p>\n
Speaking to news.com.au on the red carpet at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, Ted Sarandos weighed in on reports that Meghan would be joining the cast of The Gentlemen.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t speak to Meghan\u2019s work,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cWe\u2019re really excited for her and everything that\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
It comes just weeks after news.com.au exclusively revealed<\/a> that Meghan was making a surprise return to acting, with a number of offers being seriously considered \u2013 a frontrunner reportedly being the Guy Ritchie-created series.<\/p>\n Meghan\u2019s decision to return to acting, almost a decade after she stepped back from her role in Suits to join then-boyfriend Harry in Britain, came after she first dipped her toe back into the showbiz water late last year with a small cameo as herself in Close Personal Friends.<\/p>\n A source close to the Sussexes previously indicated to news.com.au that the return to her previous line of work was a factor in their recent relocation to the UK.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Sarandos was just one of the many high-profile Hollywood figures descending on downtown Los Angeles for this year\u2019s Emmys.<\/p>\n The event was hosted by actress Mariska Hargitay for the first time, and she was also the first woman to host the Emmys in 15 years \u2013 Glee star Jane Lynch last hosted in 2011. <\/p>\n This year\u2019s ceremony was held at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, where the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) star
