TRIPLE Eight team manager Mark Dutton feels there is plenty to be done to ensure \u201ctechnical parity is respected\u201d for the Repco Bathurst 1000.<\/p>\n

A parity war broke out last week in the Supercars paddock, leading to a pair of changes \u2013 the first benefitting Chevrolet<\/a> and the second reversing some of that gain<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ford teams claimed that Chevrolet had backed Supercars into a corner via supposed threats to withdraw, something which the Bowtie has vehemently denied<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chevrolet in return asserted that its rear wing being clipped on Saturday morning was purely down to politics and lawyers, not parity<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Grove Racing has made clear that the off-track brawl is not yet over<\/a>, and Supercars has already got stuck into Centre of Gravity testing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, Dutton has had his say, stressing the desire for the aero can of worms to be reopened.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a very hectic weekend, both on and off the track with a fight going on over parity in Supercars,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be pushing hard to get the category to ensure it is a level playing field with technical parity as we head to Bathurst.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be doing some centre-of-gravity testing on the three models and also pushing to get the aero situation reviewed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe never look to get an advantage but we\u2019ve got a lot of work to ensure the technical parity is respected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parity aside, Triple Eight will head to Mount Panorama looking to make amends for an incident-affected Bend 500.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the track, if it had been a clean race, with the pace we had, we would have been challenging for the top spot,\u201d said Dutton.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone responded well to the challenges of minimising the effect of the carnage.<\/p>\n
