De La Hoya wasn\u2019t in attendance despite Garcia<br \/>\npreviously expressing a desire to have his longtime promoter walk<br \/>\nhim to the ring.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Garcia says Oscar De La Hoya had a seat for his Conor Benn<br \/>\nfight but didn&#8217;t attend<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDespite De La Hoya being at loggerheads with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/organizations\/Ultimate-Fighting-Championship-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> CEO and Zuffa Boxing co-founder<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/search\/gallery-fighter?q=dana+white\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dana<br \/>\nWhite<\/a> for years, the latter has reiterated that he didn\u2019t<br \/>\nprevent the former from attending the event. The Golden Boy<br \/>\npromoter had been invited and even offered VIP access.<\/p>\n<p>However, he didn\u2019t attend the event. Garcia initially appeared<br \/>\nunfazed by De La Hoya&#8217;s absence. Days later, however, the champion<br \/>\nwas far more critical.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, nobody wanted him there,\u201d Garcia told Ariel Helwani.<br \/>\n\u201cSometimes you\u2019ve got to pick your battles; it\u2019s not really a<br \/>\nbattle I really want to pick right here. I wish Oscar was there, I<br \/>\nwish he walked out with me and I wish he would\u2019ve been ringside no<br \/>\nmatter what.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Garcia, De La Hoya was allowed to attend but opted<br \/>\nagainst it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would\u2019ve shown his love for me just like I had imagined<br \/>\nsomeone who has been with me the entire time to do,\u201d Garcia said.<br \/>\n\u201cThey did have a seat for you though, and you didn\u2019t take that<br \/>\nseat. I don\u2019t respect that and that disappointed me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garcia further revealed that he hasn\u2019t heard from De La Hoya since<br \/>\nthe fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know why he\u2019s like that; he just doesn\u2019t want to show up<br \/>\nfor the people he\u2019s supposed to love,\u201d Garcia said. \u201cI don\u2019t know;<br \/>\nhe\u2019s weird, bro. He\u2019s missing a part of himself\u2026 It\u2019s really<br \/>\ndisappointing.
