The Columbus Blue Jackets begin preparations for their 26th\u00a0National Hockey League season with the opening of training camp, presented by OhioHealth. \u00a0Players report for physicals at\u00a0the OhioHealth\u00a0McConnell Spine, Sport and Joint Center\u00a0and headshots at Nationwide Arena\u00a0beginning at\u00a07\u00a0a.m.\u00a0on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Columbus will conduct its first team on-ice practices on Thursday, September 17 at Nationwide Arena. All practice sessions at Nationwide Arena from Thursday, September 17 through Sunday, September 20 are open to the public. The club will hold its\u00a0annual\u00a0Open Practice, presented by OhioHealth\u00a0on Saturday, September 19, with the first 1,000 fans through the doors receiving a commemorative Training Camp T-shirt, courtesy of OhioHealth. Coffee and donuts will\u00a0also\u00a0be available for free in the morning, while supplies last, courtesy of Tim Hortons.<\/p>\n
Starting Monday, September 21,\u00a0only\u00a0practices held in the OhioHealth Ice Haus (see full schedule below) will be open to the public. For the practices held at Nationwide Arena, fans can enter at Front Street.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0full training camp roster and\u00a0practice\u00a0groups will be\u00a0announced\u00a0once finalized.\u00a0\u00a0The Blue Jackets open their\u00a0four-game preseason schedule\u00a0on\u00a0Monday, September 21\u00a0when the club\u00a0hosts\u00a0the\u00a0Detroit Red Wings\u00a0at Nationwide Arena. \u00a0The\u00a0teamplays\u00a0its four-contest slate over six days from September 21-26.\u00a0\u00a0Columbus\u00a0opens\u00a0the\u00a02026-27\u00a0regular season\u00a0with a 7 p.m. ET matchup against the Buffalo Sabres on\u00a0Thursday, October\u00a01\u00a0at Nationwide Arena.<\/p>\n
Media Availability \u2013 Practices:\u00a0Members of the hockey operations staff and Head Coach\u00a0Rick Bowness\u00a0will be available following the final practice session each day. \u00a0All players will be available following their final scheduled\u00a0practice\u00a0of the day. \u00a0The club will hold media availability in the press conference room during training camp.\u00a0\u2026\u00a0Preseason\u00a0Games:\u00a0The\u00a0team\u2019sdressing room will be open to the media five\u00a0minutes after the game\u2019s conclusion. \u00a0Bowness\u00a0will meet\u00a0with\u00a0the media in the press conference room approximately 20 minutes after each contest.<\/p>\n
