Rebel Wilson<\/a> surprised fans at Reading Festival on Friday when she jumped on stage to perform for the crowd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Australian actress, 45, joined\ufeff English rock band The Kooks to perform a rendition<\/a> of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise.<\/p>\n

The band’s frontman Luke Pritchard welcomed her to the stage\ufeff at the famous festival as the crowd burst into cheers.<\/p>\n

“We’d like to welcome to the stage the incredible Tassie Young, otherwise known as Rebel Wilson,” Pritchard said as Wilson walked out onto stage.<\/p>\n

Wilson, wearing black parachute pants and a distressed white tee, took to the stage with a microphone in her hand.<\/p>\n

“All right what’s up Reading?” she said to the crowd.<\/p>\n

“I thought I should sing\ufeff with you a classic Kooks song, Gangsta’s Paradise,” she joked as the crowd cheered.<\/p>\n

The band began to play \ufeffthe famous tune then Wilson joined in singing the opening lines.<\/p>\n

She rapped the verses of the well-known song as the crowd sang along with her.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Then Pritchard joined in to sing the chorus.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAs the song came to an end she sprayed a bottle of champagne to the crowd and blew them a kiss goodbye before walking off the stage.<\/p>\n

\"RebelWilson shared photos from the surprise appearance to her instagram, thanking the band and the “epic crowd”. (Instagram\/ @rebelwilson)<\/p>\n

Afterwards, Wilson shared photos of her surprise performance to her Instagram.<\/p>\n

In one of the photos Wilson posted, she can be seen drinking from a bottle of champagne as she holds hands with an excited fan. In another she poses backstage with the band members.<\/p>\n

“Can’t give away too much but thank you to the gorgeous fellas of The Kooks and the epic crowd\ufeff,” Wilson wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n

She added the hashtag #tassieyoung which appears to be Wilson’s popstar alter ego and perhaps the name of her character for an upcoming film.<\/p>\n

On her Instagram stories, Wilson shared a behind the scenes look at the surprise appearance.<\/p>\n

She explained that while she was set to perform in front of a real life crowd, it was all for an upcoming movie.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”About to go on, there’s the stage out there,” she said in the video which she filmed backstage.<\/p>\n

“Let’s do this and by the way this is \ufeffall for a movie so it’s kind of real because there [are] 90,000 people out there but it’s kind of not real as well.”<\/p>\n
