Carl has previously worked for his uncle Kevin at the garage and for mum Debbie at the Chariot Square Hotel, but he’s better known for his criminal dealings to make a quick buck.

The story starts when Carl hears Steve complaining about the useless new guy they have to replace Cassie Plummer, operating the switchboard at Street Cars.

Carl offers his services instead, so desperate Steve gives him a job on a trial basis as suspicious Kevin watches on…

After Carl stabbed Kevin in the back at the garage, it’s obvious why no one’s been rushing to offer him a job. Carl’s never too far away from dirty schemes to make some quick cash, but can he be trusted to earn an honest living this time – or should Steve keep a close eye on him?
