OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Play was suspended at the Fighting Illini Invitational on Friday night due to darkness. No. 13 Pepperdine was among the 20 groups that did not get through round 2.\u00a0

\nPepperdine sits in seventh place at the time of suspension, with senior Carson Kim<\/a> pacing the way at five-under. The Yorba Linda, California native carded three-under (67) in the opening round before sitting at two-under (68) as play was suspended.

\nFreshman Luke Ringkamp<\/a> is at four-under in the tournament after starting out one-under (69) through the first round before shooting three-under (67) at suspension. He shot well to start round two, burying a trio of birdies. He is the only Wave to be in a group that didn’t complete the round before suspension.

\nAyden Fynaut<\/a> recorded a three-under (67) on the first 18 before shooting even at the time of suspension. He made a nice run in round one, scoring even or birdie on holes 6-16 while tallying four birdies on the back nine.

\n Willy Walsh<\/a> is one-under for the tournament and improved from a one-over (71) in round one before registering a one-under (69) in round two. He bogeyed just once and recorded a trio of birdies to get him under headed into Saturday’s final round.

\nRounding out the Pepperdine lineup is another freshman, Kailer Stone<\/a>. The Alameda, California native is four-over for the tournament but was rapidly improving throughout the Invitational. Following a challenging six-over (76) in the first round, Stone went two-under (68) in round two, sinking a half-dozen birdies along the way.
