\n\tNearly eight years later, Cody Fern<\/a> is looking back on his time on Netflix\u2019s final season of House of Cards<\/a>, amid the firing of Kevin Spacey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile discussing his feature directorial debut Closing Night at TIFF, the actor recalled playing \u201cthe main villain\u201d on the sixth and final season, before \u201cthe nuclear bomb hit\u201d the show with sexual misconduct allegations coming out against Spacey.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was in House of Cards,\u201d he told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cI was cast as the main villain of Season 6, playing a Jared Kushner type.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tFern continued, \u201cOh yeah, we filmed for a couple of months, and then the nuclear bomb hit. Then I got to come back and work on Robin Wright\u2019s season, and I was a wonderful wallflower. So I got to have the pre- and post-[Spacey] experience, and I\u2019ve got some wild stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter House of Cards was renewed for Season 6 in 2017, actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making a sexual advance on him at a party in 1986 when Rapp was 14. Spacey became the subject of allegations from 15 others, including eight people who worked on the Netflix political drama.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe streamer subsequently dropped Spacey from the starring role of Frank Underwood, announcing that Robin Wright would lead the final season as Frank\u2019s widow Claire Underwood.<\/p>\n
