Curry told CNBC on Thursday<\/a> that his signature shoe with Li-Ning,<\/a> the Chinese footwear company he signed<\/a> a reported 10-year, $400 million contract with after 13 years with Under Armour, will debut early next year. He called the split with Under Armour “mutual” and said he holds no regrets about how it played out, adding that Li-Ning ultimately won him over because “the product reigned supreme.” <\/p>\n Until his own shoe releases, Curry said he will wear Li-Ning models designed by Warriors teammate Jimmy Butler<\/a> and Hall of Fame guard Dwyane Wade,<\/a> both of whom also represent the brand.<\/p>\n The bigger news for the Warriors’ audience came when the conversation turned to his own future. Entering his 18th NBA season with his contract set to expire in 2027, Curry made it clear he has no interest in testing free agency or walking away from the franchise that drafted him.<\/p>\n “I want to be a lifer with Golden State,” Curry said.<\/p>\n He also confirmed something Warriors fans had assumed for months without ever hearing him say it outright: he actively tried to recruit LeBron James to join Golden State this summer, before James ultimately signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.<\/a> Curry didn’t shy away from admitting it.<\/p>\n “If anybody didn’t try, I think they’d be a fool,” Curry said, adding that seeing a player of James’ stature get to choose his own next chapter was good for the league as a whole.<\/p>\n The comments cap a summer that saw the Warriors strike out on every major star target,<\/a> including James, while Draymond Green opted out of his own contract<\/a> in part to help create the flexibility for exactly this kind of pursuit. <\/p>\n Curry’s own extension talks remain pending, but Thursday’s comments leave little ambiguity about which side of the negotiation he is approaching from — one that wants to finish his career and build whatever comes next in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n
