The young gun Jovic will be going for her second tour-level title, while Stearns will be aiming for a third and her second this season after also triumping in Austin earlier this year. As always, we at LWOT will offer our prediction for this final, but which player will come out on top and lift the trophy?

WTA Guadalajara Final Prediction
Iva Jovic vs Peyton Stearns

Head-to-head: first meeting

Second seed Iva Jovic saved 11 out of 12 break points to defeat Cristina Bucsa in straight sets in the semifinal and is into her second final of the season. Jovic’s toughest test came in her opening match against Zeynep Sonmez, and since then she has been far too good for her opponents. Her clean ball-striking, reliable serve, and excellent movement make her a tough player to play, but what makes her incredibly hard to upset is her composure, which is beyond her age.

Peyton Stearns has had an excellent week and has not yet dropped a set at WTA Guadalajara, beating Emiliana Arango, Diane Parry, and Sloane Stephens to reach the last four. She was an early break down there against Liudmila Samsonova in the first set but fought back brilliantly to win the set in the tiebreaker.

She kept the pressure in the second set and was rewarded with an easy win in the end. Stearns has defeated some solid players this week and is into her first WTA 500 final. Stearns has the variety to force Jovic into uncomfortable defensive positions, but she will have to take care of her serve first.

Jovic is an aggressive returner and will come after Stearns’ second serve. The teenager captured her first WTA title here in 2025, and I expect her to win once again and become the first player to go back-to-back at this event since its inception. Stearns is good enough to take a set, but I am going with Jovic to win in three.

Prediction: Jovic in 3

Main photo credit: IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters/Geoff Burke

The WTA Guadalajara Open final is set, and it will be an all-American clash as defending champion Iva…

[565
64,63,85,747
post-897528","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tennis","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-sports","tag-tennis
["GET
