Last weekend I shared a little video of our family camping trip where there was a very brief shot of me pushing our newborn son in his pram. <\/p>\n

It all sounds pretty innocent so far, doesn\u2019t it? <\/p>\n

Until I revealed that our newborn son was wrapped in an iconic pink, white, yellow and blue hospital blanket. <\/p>\n

And then the comments started to roll in.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a Midwife, all I saw in this video was the hospital blanket you stole,\u201d said Bec. <\/p>\n

Next was Lou: \u201cAnother Midwife here, yes, the blankets really stand out in the wild.\u201d <\/p>\n

And then Kezza: \u201cMidwife here, SAME!\u201d<\/p>\n

I was gobsmacked. I genuinely, hand on heart, had no idea I was stealing. Your honour. <\/p>\n

I needed official confirmation so I consulted the most reputable source possible in a time of crisis … Google\u2019s AI Overview.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, you are not allowed to take hospital blankets home. They are hospital property.\u201d Ouch. <\/p>\n

Next, I called my darling Rebecca (who will now be known as \u201cthe accomplice\u201d). She too, had no idea we were stealing. <\/p>\n

My video had unwittingly exposed us both as accidental thieves. It gets worse. The accomplice informed me we had four
\nof those hospital blankets at home. <\/p>\n

We only have three kids! <\/p>\n

My conscience was getting the better of me. I had to confess. I had to own our mistake. So, I made a very short video acknowledging the stolen blankets and promising to lie low for a while. <\/p>\n

That new video was viewed more than two million times in 24 hours. Now more than three million people knew we were not only thieves, but repeat offenders. <\/p>\n

It had gone global. Even people in Sweden were commenting. It was now an internationally recognised crime. <\/p>\n

But as I worked my way through the thousands of comments, one thing became increasingly clear \u2014 we weren\u2019t alone.<\/p>\n

Almost every comment was confessing to the EXACT same crime. We felt a wave of solidarity. It was like we were the \u201cI am Spartacus\u201d moment of the linen world. <\/p>\n

@nikki22: \u201cIf you\u2019re going to swaddle my baby in it like a burrito, you bet I\u2019m taking that tortilla.\u201d<\/p>\n

@ballergal6: \u201cIsn\u2019t the blanket just gift wrapping.\u201d<\/p>\n

@Alwalnai: \u201cOur Midwife put it in my hospital bag. So technically it is not theft.\u201d<\/p>\n

@theboss44: \u201cWe paid $12k in hospital fees. I\u2019m taking the blanket. And anything else not bolted down.\u201d<\/p>\n

@yellowflower: \u201cIt\u2019s a push present.\u201d<\/p>\n

In closing, despite the court of public opinion being on my side, I am still planning to return our blankets (in the dark of night) hopefully with no questions asked? <\/p>\n

Fingers crossed our charge can be downgraded from theft to long-term loan. <\/p>\n

What a wild ride the past few days have been. Ricky Martin may have been \u201cLivin\u2019 La Vida Loca\u201d, but Bec and I were well and truly \u201cLinen La Vida Loca\u201d. <\/p>\n
