{"id":898639,"date":"2026-09-20T07:14:16","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T07:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/898639\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T07:14:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T07:14:16","slug":"supercars-nick-percat-on-bend-500-troubled-run-with-broc-feeney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/898639\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: Nick Percat on Bend 500 troubled run with Broc Feeney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THERE\u2019S no hiding from the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-38-Nick-Percat\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nick Percat<\/a>\u2019s Triple Eight debut did not go to plan, but that did little to take away from his long-awaited first impressions of the Banyo squad at the racetrack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Percat was beaten up during the wet early phase of the AirTouch 500 at The Bend, including being spun by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-12-Lee-Holdsworth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lee Holdsworth<\/a> and then clattered into by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1547-Zak-Best\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zak Best<\/a> \u2013 the latter incident necessitating a multi-lap repair in the garage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there, Percat and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1545-Broc-Feeney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Broc Feeney<\/a> could manage no better than 23rd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBeing taken off the road three times was not ideal in the first 30-odd laps. I\u2019ll just have to look at maybe what I could have done, if I could have put myself in different spots or whatnot, but I just felt like it was unlucky,\u201d Percat reflected post-race to V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur car was crazy fast.<\/p>\n<p>Clear As Mud! | The Undercut<\/p>\n<p>THE Undercut returns, breaking down the latest news in the world of Supercars racing!<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s annoying for the whole team and Broc obviously to have the car handed back in that position.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019ve been the main driver and had my car returned like that and it\u2019s not a nice feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If nothing else, Percat was able to at least get plenty of race mileage to take into the Repco Bathurst 1000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for what he observed of Triple Eight, regardless of the result?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/2026-repco-bathurst-1000-official-program?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1789888456_144_2026-bathurst-program-2.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe way they work is amazing and how calm it is,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe way Jamie (Whincup) checks in on everyone, making sure it\u2019s all going in the right direction is very impressive as well. There was not a lack of support, which is really good.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd then when the car wasn\u2019t where we wanted it during practice sometimes, there was never a panic.
