While not an unordinary scene, the frame captured a lasting sense of innocence and youth.<\/p>\n \u201cAs the sun dropped lower in the sky, it cast a beautifully defined shadow across the fence,\u201d Goldsmith told the competition organizers. \u201cIt was an unposed, ordinary moment, but when I reviewed the image later, it carried more emotional weight than I had realized at the time,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n You may like<\/p>\n \n De-Escalation (Image credit: Andy Zakeli)<\/p>\n Andy Zakeli’s gear and settings: Hasselblad X2D 100C<\/a> | Hasselblad XCD 45P | 45mm | 1\/90 sec | f\/4.8 | ISO 3200<\/p>\n This year, The Mono Awards accepted images across two further categories: \u201cPlaces\u201d and \u201cAnimals.\u201d<\/p>\n New South Wales-based Andy Zakeli<\/a> was named winner of the former for his quirky scene at Sydney\u2019s Gadigal Station, which came about from \u201cexperimenting\u201d with different angles of the metro station\u2019s architecture.<\/p>\n Speaking to Australian Photographer, he said: \u201cI like trying to add humor or strange elements to my photos purely to create interest for the viewer.
