{"id":900649,"date":"2026-09-21T23:52:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T23:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/900649\/"},"modified":"2026-09-21T23:52:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T23:52:14","slug":"super2-news-tristan-pitts-project-motorsport-to-enter-2027-series-with-triple-eight-holden-zb-commodores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/900649\/","title":{"rendered":"Super2 news: Tristan Pitts, Project Motorsport to enter 2027 series with Triple Eight Holden ZB Commodores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EXPECT to see a new player in town next year in the Dunlop Super2 Series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Namely, Tristan Pitts and his start-up Project Motorsport team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 41-year-old has announced plans to enter Supercars\u2019 feeder category in 2027 and beyond, based out of a southeast Queensland facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pitts has already struck a deal to lease two Triple Eight-built Holden ZB Commodores for season one; now he is on the hunt for drivers to fill those seats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI have always been in motorsport and wanted to do motorsport,\u201d Pitts told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI helped out a friend\u2019s dad when he was doing V8 BRutes and sort of got the bug for it then.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fast forward to now and it\u2019s going to be his turn to call the shots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSigning drivers. That\u2019s the main thing (that needs to happen),\u201d said Pitts, who operates in the transport industry with business Yatala Heavy Vehicle Mechanical and Repair.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/v8-sleuth-magazine-subscription?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790034734_179_sleuth-mag-sub.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve got trailers in place. We\u2019ve got the workshop. We\u2019ve got a few good guys in our corner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEverything is set up and ready to go, we just need drivers to come in and say \u2018we\u2019re going to commit to this\u2019 and then off we go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Part of a proud Holden family, Pitts is committed to staying on the General Motors side when Gen3 machinery takes over Super2 in 2028.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA plan is already in place there for when the Camaro is right to come through,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s not all that is in the pipeline, either, with aspirations to become a Supercars Championship team owner down the track.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s the plan. You have got to crawl before you can walk,\u201d said Pitts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another three rounds are to come in this year\u2019s Super2 Series, with Bathurst next up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"EXPECT to see a new player in town next year in the Dunlop Super2 Series.
