\n\tTaylor Swift<\/a> is adding another notable honor to her collection.<\/p>\n

\n\tCBS and MTV announced Monday (Sept. 21) that the 36-year-old pop superstar will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards<\/a> on Sept. 27.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new award recognizes \u201cgroundbreaking music artists whose work behind the camera has expanded the possibilities of music video and advanced the art of visual storytelling\u201d and \u201ccelebrates a sustained and influential body of work from artists who have pushed creative boundaries and developed a clear directorial voice,\u201d according to a press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tSwift, who currently has 30 Moon Persons, made her solo directorial debut in 2020 with the music video for her Lover single \u201cThe Man,\u201d taking home best direction at that year\u2019s VMAs. She followed that with her filmmaking debut, All Too Well: The Short Film, which premiered in 2021 and went on to win video of the year, best longform video and best direction at the 2022 VMAs.<\/p>\n

\n\tSwift is a seven-time VMAs best direction nominee and four-time winner in the category. Her nominations include \u201cThe Man,\u201d \u201cCardigan,\u201d \u201cWillow,\u201d\u00a0All Too Well: The Short Film, \u201cAnti-Hero,\u201d \u201cFortnight (feat. Post Malone)\u201d and \u201cOpalite.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHer directing work also includes \u201cBejeweled,\u201d \u201cLavender Haze,\u201d \u201cKarma (feat. Ice Spice),\u201d \u201cI Can See You (Taylor\u2019s Version) (From The Vault)\u201d and \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Artist Director Honors announcement comes as Swift heads into this year\u2019s VMAs with 11 nominations<\/a>, second only to Madonna\u2019s 13.<\/p>\n

\n\tSwift is nominated\u00a0for video of\u00a0the year, best\u00a0pop, best art\u00a0direction, best cinematography, best editing, best\u00a0choreography and best\u00a0visual effects for\u00a0\u201cThe Fate of\u00a0Ophelia,\u201d as well\u00a0as best direction\u00a0for \u201cOpalite,\u201d artist\u00a0of the year, best album for\u00a0The Life of\u00a0a Showgirl\u00a0and song of\u00a0summer for \u201cI\u00a0Knew It, I\u00a0Knew You.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAriana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson are also among this year\u2019s leading nominees. Nirvana will receive the coveted Video Vanguard Award at this year\u2019s ceremony.<\/p>\n

\n\tHosted by Snoop Dogg, the 2026 VMAs will air live from Los Angeles\u2019 Peacock Theater on Sept. 27, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. ET (4:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT) on CBS, with a simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. The show will be available globally on Paramount+ and MTV the following day.<\/p>\n
