It gives businesses a way to accept cards, <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/apple-pay\" title=\"Apple Pay\" data-kpt=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple Pay<\/a>, and other contactless wallets using only a compatible iPhone and supported app.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Tap to Pay on iPhone works with the iPhone XS and newer running the latest version of <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/ios\" title=\"iOS\" data-kpt=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">iOS<\/a>. Customers can hold a contactless debit or credit card, iPhone, <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/apple-watch\" title=\"Apple Watch\" data-kpt=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple Watch<\/a>, or another supported digital wallet near the merchant&#8217;s iPhone to complete a payment over NFC.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/la\/newsroom\/2026\/09\/apple-introduces-tap-to-pay-on-iphone-in-more-latin-american-countries\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a post<\/a> on Apple&#8217;s Latin American site, first <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/09\/22\/apple-expands-tap-to-pay-on-iphone-across-eight-latin-american-markets\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">spotted by<\/a> 9to5Mac, Apple is launching the feature via several payment platforms across eight countries, although availability varies. The initial rollout includes:&#13;<\/p>\n<p> Argentina: Mercado Pago &#13;<br \/>\nColombia: SumUp, Symbiotic &#13;<br \/>\nCosta Rica: Geopagos, Symbiotic, Visa Acceptance Solutions &#13;<br \/>\nDominican Republic: Azul, Visa Acceptance Solutions &#13;<br \/>\nGuatemala: Geopagos, Symbiotic &#13;<br \/>\nHonduras: Geopagos, Symbiotic &#13;<br \/>\nPanama: Geopagos, Symbiotic &#13;<br \/>\nPeru: SumUp <\/p>\n<p>Contactless cards from major payment networks including American Express, Mastercard, and Visa are supported.
