{"id":902265,"date":"2026-09-23T07:46:23","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T07:46:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/902265\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T07:46:23","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T07:46:23","slug":"supercars-how-walkinshaw-twg-racing-is-going-about-carl-faux-replacement-search","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/902265\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: How Walkinshaw TWG Racing is going about Carl Faux replacement search"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LEADING Supercars squad Walkinshaw TWG Racing is looking far and wide for an apt successor to outgoing team principal Carl Faux.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having come onboard in late 2017 after carving out a successful career in his native England, Faux has just one race left with the Walkinshaw organisation: next month\u2019s Repco Bathurst 1000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thereafter he\u2019ll move onto a new to-be-announced challenge, with the knowledge that the Toyota Supercar project he helped spearhead has been an overwhelming success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gen3 Supra has won four races thus far this year, including the most recent Bend 500 via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-330-Chaz-Mostert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chaz Mostert<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-18-Fabian-Coulthard\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fabian Coulthard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That came only after an extensive mission to deliver an engine upgrade aimed at bolstering reliability, something which will be tested evenly more sternly across 161 laps around Mount Panorama.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/2026-repco-bathurst-1000-official-program?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790149578_903_2026-bathurst-program-2.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eleven weeks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/team-principal-to-leave-walkinshaw-twg-after-bathurst\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">since Faux\u2019s impending departure was publicised<\/a>, Walkinshaw TWG remains yet to name a successor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCarl is a unicorn. You can\u2019t replace Carl, he\u2019s one of a kind,\u201d the team\u2019s CEO Bruce Stewart told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe\u2019s a unique, incredibly intelligent individual. Pic: Supplied\/Mark Horsburgh<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the options being explored is to search abroad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re an international team, with our owners. We want to get the best people,\u201d said Stewart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCarl will be a big void for us to fill.
