\n\tAudiences will have to wait a while longer for the next Gremlins<\/a> movie, with Warner Bros. moving the release date of its untitled third installment in the franchise back nearly 11 months.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film will now open Oct. 6, 2028, back from its previous date of Nov. 19, 2027. Chris Columbus, who wrote the 1984 original Gremlins, is directing. Hannah Marks is writing the script, from an early draft by Columbus and Final Destination Bloodlines duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmblin Entertainment\u2019s Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario are producing with Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe via 26th Street Pictures. Steven Spielberg executive produces with Maiden Voyage\u2019s Eleanor Columbus. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe original, Joe Dante-directed feature centered on adorable and dangerous creatures and spawned the divisive 1990 sequel, also directed by Dante. Warners and Amblin also made the animated series Secrets of the Mogwai that has aired two seasons on HBO Max since 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to its Gremlins move, Warners has also shifted the date for DC Studios<\/a>\u2018 and Warner Bros. Animation\u2019s Dynamic Duo<\/a>, an animated feature that will focus on two young men who have held the mantle of Robin \u2014 Dick Grayson and Jason Todd.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt will now open Sept. 22, 2028, back from June 30, 2028.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt hails from puppeteering and animation studio Swaybox, and will be a mix of animation, puppetry and CGI. Matt Aldrich is penning the script, with DC Studios\u2019 James Gunn and Peter Safran producing with The Batman director Matt Reeves\u2019 6th & Idaho.
