The Moots Routt has been updated for 2026, bringing changes to its tire clearance, complete builds, and drivetrain options. With two models comprising the Routt line, the revisions to this fat-tire gravel bike move it squarely into the modern era. Find details below\u2026<\/p>\n

First teased in our MADE coverage<\/a>, the 2026 Moots Routt has officially launched. Expanding the tire clearance of their flagship gravel bike, the Colorado-based brand has also streamlined their two Routt models into one upgradeable offering. The Routt is now available as a standard model with straight-gauge 3\/2.5 titanium tubing, or as the more expensive RSL model with double-butted, \u201crider-tuned\u201d titanium tubing that delivers a lower frame weight and a quicker, more direct ride feel.<\/p>\n

Somewhat controversially, the new Routt model is made solely for electronic drivetrains. With internal routing that accounts only for brake lines, both the standard Routt and Routt RSL have no external or internal provisions for those looking to run cable-operated drivetrains. I contacted Will Bender, head of marketing at Moots, about this change, and he said, \u201cThe Routt is designed around electronic drivetrains. For specific drivetrain setups or add-on options outside our standard configurations, contact our sales team, and we can help determine what will work for your use case.\u201d <\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the Moots says they\u2019ve based the new model\u2019s construction around a 50mm tire, though it is capable of running a 57mm or 2.2\u2033 tire. The bike also has the brand\u2019s new gravel fork, which uses a D-shaped steerer for clean, internal routing through the headtube. As far as mounts go, the Routt has three bottle positions on the triangle, bento box mounts on the top tube, and optional upper rack mounts on the base model. However, it has no mounting points on its new carbon fork. The maximum 1x chainring size is 48T, and it uses a 68mm threaded bottom bracket, 27.2mm seatpost, 12 x 100 \/ 12 x 142mm spacing, flat-mount brakes, and a 47.5mm chainline. Like many offerings these days, the new Routt is UDH-compatible through Moots\u2019 in-house machined dropouts.<\/p>\n

Pricing for the Routt RSL is yet to be determined, but the brand has released costs for both the standard frameset and complete options. The standard Routt frameset is $5,500, and complete builds range from $10,000 to $12,500, depending on the customer\u2019s choice of SRAM Force, Force Mullet, or Red drivetrains.<\/p>\n
