U2 frontman Bono has revealed that Dolly Parton<\/a> recorded one final song<\/a> with him only months before her death<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Speaking with Rolling Stone<\/a>, he revealed that Parton got off bed rest to feature on the band\u2019s upcoming track Torn, adding that \u201cyou can hear\u201d the struggle in her voice. <\/p>\n

Dolly Parton\u2019s final vocal recording is set for release on November 13 as part of U2\u2019s upcoming album.\u00a0AP<\/p>\n

Torn is set to be released on U2\u2019s upcoming album Carnaval De Luz, the band\u2019s first album in nine years, due for release on November 13. <\/p>\n

In a press release, the song was described as \u201ca tender country song detailing broken family ties that holds wider resonance\u201d. It was co-written by Parton, U2 and Snow Patrol\u2019s Johnny McDaid and performed as a duet between Parton and Bono. <\/p>\n

Parton told Rolling Stone that he had wanted to collaborate with Parton for some time, but she\u2019d been concerned that the band\u2019s music was \u201ca little too irish for me\u201d. <\/p>\n

But Parton had this song up her sleeve, offering it to Bono to see if he could take it \u201csomewhere else\u201d for a duet. <\/p>\n

So, Bono and McDaid rewrote the lyrics, and it\u2019s that song that Parton will be heard on on the upcoming album. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen she got ill, she got out of her bed to sing this song,\u201d Bono told the publication. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you can hear that. I can\u2019t even listen to it now.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe sang her heart out, and I cannot believe that\u2019s an 80-year-old woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parton was able to hear the finished song before her passing. It ended up being her final vocal recording. <\/p>\n

Parton died on August 25, 2026, surrounded by family. <\/p>\n

Following her passing, Parton\u2019s family revealed that the beloved star had been privately battling cancer<\/a>, the type of which has not been disclosed. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Centre surrounded by loved ones,\u201d a statement shared by the family read. <\/p>\n

The country singer\u2019s death was announced hours earlier in a social media video by her nephew, with revealing that her passing came after a sudden decline in her health.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before her passing, Parton recorded a song titled My Place In History that has been stored in a time capsule at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee. <\/p>\n
