iPhone Duo is less than a month away<\/a>, but many prospective buyers are still wondering how well the device will work in left-handed use. Here\u2019s a video that shows a left-handed example.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how iPhone Duo works in left-handed use<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re left-handed, the iPhone Duo may be exciting but also spark some questions. That\u2019s because the new foldable is clearly designed for right-handed use primarily.<\/p>\n

When using the outer display, iPhone Duo\u2019s left side is one straight flat edge because it\u2019s where the hinge is. But the right side has curved corners, inviting you to open it like a book.<\/p>\n

The dock is also located on the right side of the display, and Apple hasn\u2019t said if an accessibility setting will let you move it to the left.<\/p>\n

So how will left-handed users fare with the iPhone Duo? <\/p>\n

Since everyone\u2019s hand size is different, testing the device in an Apple Store will be the only way to know for sure. But I recently came across a video of iPhone Duo being used left-handed, and it\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve seen someone try it.<\/p>\n

Hitchins looks a little uncomfortable with the device, but as he explains in the comments, that\u2019s because he\u2019s actually right-handed. Thus, his left-handed test was for others\u2019 sake.<\/p>\n

The video says \u201cworks well enough\u201d as Hitchins is able to reach from the left side all the way to the dock on the right. But you\u2019ll want to test yourself to be sure.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m right-handed, but use my iPhone in my left hand so that my dominant hand is kept free. I suspect there are plenty of other right-handed users who do the same. So I\u2019m a little unsure about the adjustment to using iPhone Duo in my right hand, but will report back once I\u2019m able to test it.<\/p>\n
