VEGAS (September 25, 2026)\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The Vegas Golden Knights announced today, September 25, their plans for the ninth remembrance of 1 October. The Vegas Golden Knights Foundation will be partnering with Vitalant, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit blood and biotherapies healthcare organizations, and Downtown Summerlin\u00a0to host the annual 1 October Memorial Blood Drive outside of City National Arena on Thursday, Oct. 1 to honor the victims, survivors, first responders, and all those impacted by the Route 91 Harvest Festival tragedy.<\/p>\n
Thursday’s blood drive will run from 9 a.m. PT to 3 p.m. PT and feature appearances from members of the organization including but not limited to team broadcasters and members of the\u00a0VGK Cast. The blood drive will take place in a bloodmobile in the lot north of City National Arena. Parking will be available in the Las Vegas Ballpark lot east of City National Arena. Appointments can be booked by visiting this\u00a0link<\/a>. Blood donations were critical in the aftermath of the Route 91 tragedy, and they remain essential every day for trauma patients, cancer patients, surgical procedures, and more.<\/p>\n In addition to the blood drive on Thursday, Vegas will be inviting local first responders and special guests to a closed practice at City National Arena. The Golden Knights are scheduled to take the ice at 11 a.m. PT on Thursday and players will visit with those in attendance following practice. Thursday’s practice at City National Arena is exclusive to those who were invited and is closed to the public.<\/p>\n Last year, the\u00a0VGK Foundation contributed $1 million to the Vegas Strong Fund, an organization designated as the nonprofit to oversee the fundraising, design, and construction of the 1 October Forever One Memorial in Las Vegas.
