The Calgary Flames announced that they have signed forward Alex\u00a0Nylander\u00a0to a\u00a0one-year, two-way\u00a0contract.<\/p>\n
Nylander spent the 2025-26 season with the AHL\u2019s Toronto Marlies, posting a career-best 53 points from 24 goals and 29 assists in\u00a065 American Hockey League games.\u00a0The Calgary, AB native would\u00a0go on to appear in all 24\u00a0playoff contests the Marlies would compete in during the 2026\u00a0Calder Cup Playoffs, helping Toronto win their second Calder Cup in franchise history, scoring six goals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A\u00a0first-round\u00a0selection in the 2016 NHL Draft, Nylander is a veteran of\u00a0126 NHL\u00a0games, spending time with the\u00a0Buffalo Sabres,\u00a0Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Toronto Maple Leafs,\u00a0registering 25 goals and 24 assists\u00a0for 49 points.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a028-year-old has an additional 459\u00a0AHL games to his credit, registering 307 points\u00a0as well as\u00a014\u00a0Calder Cup Playoff points in 35 postseason appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Nylander joined the Flames training camp on a professional try-out.\u00a0<\/p>\n
