{"id":905520,"date":"2026-09-25T23:24:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T23:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/905520\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T23:24:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T23:24:14","slug":"wici-wireless-egpu-promises-rtx-5060-ti-and-5090-performance-over-wi-fi-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/905520\/","title":{"rendered":"Wici Wireless eGPU Promises RTX 5060 Ti and 5090 Performance Over Wi-Fi 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There has been a lot of development in the eGPU scene lately, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techpowerup.com\/313528\/intel-introduces-thunderbolt-5-connectivity-standard-bandwidth-up-to-120-gbps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Thunderbolt 5<\/a>, OCuLink, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techpowerup.com\/348567\/gpd-box-mini-pc-and-g2-egpu-get-mcio-8i-connectivity-with-512-gbps-bandwidth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MCIO 8i<\/a> providing serious gains in bandwidth and throughput for eGPU use cases. However, Wici has just launched the Wici One, a new wireless eGPU solution that relies on Wi-Fi 7 for data transfer instead of a cable connection, available with both an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, the latter of which does not yet have a listed price. <\/p>\n<p>While Wi-Fi 7 is capable of theoretical maximum speeds of around 46.1 Gbps, as VideoCardz points out, the 4\u00d74 radio inside the Wici One, running at 320 MHz and 4096-QAM, would top out at just 11.5 Gbps. To add to this limitation, those speeds are likely only possible over very short distances, with very little interference. Still, Wici promises high-framerate gaming over the network-connected device, with Cyberpunk 2077 reaching 80 FPS at 4K Ultra with DLSS 4 on the RTX 5060 Ti version and Black Myth: Wukong hitting 60 FPS in the 4K Cinematic preset. No latency claims are made, however, but, gaming, a latency-sensitive workload, isn&#8217;t Wici&#8217;s main selling point. The true focus for Wici is as a workstation machine, since it contains not only a GPU. The Wici One is actually a full platform, replete with a CPU and storage\u2014presumably, the platform relies entirely on VRAM, since there are no RAM specs or quantities listed.<\/p>\n<p>The main use-case being local AI workloads and GPU-accelerated 3D rendering, the main idea appears to be to send the entire job to the Wici One&#8217;s GPU over the network and to complete the workload on the eGPU enclosure, then returning the result to the host machine after it is complete. <\/p>\n<p>While pricing for the RTX 5090 version has yet to be announced, Wici has confirmed that the One&#8217;s RTX 5090 will be paired with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H and 4 TB of NVMe storage, while the RTX 5060 Ti version will come with an Intel Core 3 100U and 1 TB of NVMe.
