Presley Gerber<\/a> has been cremated at age 27 as authorities continue investigating what caused his death.<\/p>\n

A death certificate obtained by TMZ<\/a> shows Gerber\u2019s body was released<\/a> to his family following an examination and cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home.<\/p>\n

His parents, supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, will reportedly keep his ashes at their California home.<\/p>\n

The document lists Gerber\u2019s occupation as an entrepreneur working in mental health, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

His official cause of death has not been determined, with further testing ordered by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner before a finding can be made.<\/p>\n

Gerber was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9.45am on September 20 after emergency crews were called to the Santa Monica rehabilitation facility.<\/p>\n

TMZ reports he had arrived at the facility the previous night and was later found inside a bedroom.<\/p>\n

Audio of emergency dispatches previously obtained by media outlets referred first to a cardiac arrest and later to a suspected overdose. <\/p>\n

But authorities have not confirmed an overdose as his cause of death. Investigators are also awaiting toxicology findings.<\/p>\n

Funeral plans are now being made, according to TMZ, with the family reportedly considering a small service.<\/p>\n

Gerber\u2019s death came after he had spoken publicly for years about addiction and his mental health, including treatments he had sought to recover.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, he shared details of undergoing ibogaine treatment, a psychedelic addiction-reset therapy, in Mexico.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuiet moment before everything changed. i was absolutely terrified, and I knew I would be again if I ever had to face something like this. helps to not go into the situations you do that get ya there but that\u2019s life sometimes,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

His mum responded: \u201cYou are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sister Kaia Gerber wrote: \u201cThat\u2019s my brother I am so damn proud.\u201d<\/p>\n

His dad added: \u201cI\u2019m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what\u2019s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family asked for privacy following his death, a representative said in a statement.<\/p>\n
