{"id":905896,"date":"2026-09-26T06:44:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-26T06:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/905896\/"},"modified":"2026-09-26T06:44:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-26T06:44:22","slug":"supercars-chassis-history-of-team-kiwi-racing-bathurst-holden-commodore-super2-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/905896\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: Chassis history of Team Kiwi Racing Bathurst Holden Commodore Super2 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE Supercar with which Team Kiwi Racing will make its grand return at Bathurst has quite the history of highs, lows and points of differences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next month\u2019s Mount Panorama round will be TKR\u2019s first Super2 round since 2010, and it has been even longer since the squad appeared at main game level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The outing is a one-off for now, with Brendon Leitch driving a Holden ZB Commodore leased from Image Racing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chassis is EMH02, built new by Erebus Motorsport for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-5-David-Reynolds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Reynolds<\/a> to campaign in the 2018 Supercars Championship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/erebus-motorsport-from-challengers-to-champions-book?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/erebus-champions-book.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It tasted plenty of success that year, chalking up race wins at Albert Park, Hidden Valley and Newcastle \u2013 not to mention a near-miss at Bathurst where Reynolds was on track to win until being afflicted by cramping issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reynolds remained aboard the car into the following season, leading Erebus to another strong result in the drivers\u2019 championship (sixth).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The car then had a breather for 2020 before being redeployed for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1292-Will-Brown\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Will Brown<\/a> after the rookie crashed heavily (in EMH04) on solo debut at the 2021 Mount Panorama 500.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That paved the way for EMH02 to be connected to two of the biggest moments in the early phase of Brown\u2019s career: his breakthrough victory at Sydney Motorsport Park (November 2021) and an enormous shunt at Pukekohe (September 2022) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/winterbottom-erebus-clash-over-pukekohe-crash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">following controversial contact with Mark Winterbottom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/News_erebus_fix2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-59120\"  \/>The initial bout of repairs carried out in 2022 after Will Brown\u2019s Pukekohe incident.
