Capitals 3, Bruins 2: Jordan Kyrou<\/a> scored on the power play 11 seconds into overtime to give the Washington Capitals the win against the Boston Bruins at Capital One Arena in Washington.<\/p>\n

Kyrou won it from the top of the left circle with his first goal since being traded to the Capitals from the St. Louis Blues on June 23.<\/p>\n

Dylan Strome<\/a> and Tom Wilson<\/a> each had a goal and an assist, and Pierre-Luc Dubois<\/a> had two assists for Washington (2-0-1). Logan Thompson<\/a>\u00a0made 20 saves.<\/p>\n

David Pastrnak<\/a> and Morgan Geekie<\/a> scored for Boston (2-2-0) in its preseason finale. Jeremy Swayman<\/a>\u00a0made 32 saves.<\/p>\n

The Bruins open the regular season at home against the New York Rangers on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).<\/p>\n

Strome scored on the power play at 18:04 of the first period to give Washington a 1-0 lead, putting in a rebound of a Wilson shot.<\/p>\n

Wilson made it 2-0 at 1:39 of the second period on the power play when he backhanded the puck into the net after Strome\u2019s pass in front went off the skate of Dubois.<\/p>\n

Geekie pulled Boston to within 2-1 at 3:40 of the third period, one-timing a bouncing pass from Pavel Zacha<\/a>\u00a0past Thompson.<\/p>\n
