\u201cNo problem with weight. Time to rehydrate and go into battle,\u201d Goodman\u2019s manager, Peter Mitrevski, told Fox Sports Australia<\/p>\n
after the weigh-in.<\/p>\n
There is still one more trip to the scales. Under IBF rules, Goodman and Nishida must weigh in again on fight morning.<\/p>\n
The second weigh-in has been moved from 9am to 8am Sunday in Tokyo, Australian boxing manager and matchmaker Mike Altamura, who works with Nishida\u2019s team, confirmed to<\/p>\n

Code Sports earlier reported that Goodman\u2019s team had hoped for a 7am start to give him more time to eat, drink and prepare. But Altamura said IBF rules require the weigh-in to take place between 8am and 10am.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had no objection to 8am,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

With Saturday\u2019s weigh-in behind him, Goodman is closing in on the world-title opportunity that has slipped away from him a couple of times.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been full of ups and downs, but we\u2019re almost here now,\u201d Goodman told Fox<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in this sport to become a world champion. If I wasn\u2019t, I wouldn\u2019t be doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Twice he was scheduled to face Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue, only for cuts suffered in sparring to wipe out both opportunities.<\/p>\n
Goodman later stepped up to featherweight and pushed world champion Nick Ball over 12 rounds, but lost a decision in a close fight.<\/p>\n
He has since returned to super bantamweight, with Nishida standing between him and the interim IBF belt. Goodman has been determined to look ahead as the fight has drawn closer.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not too focused on the past at the moment. I\u2019m looking at what\u2019s next,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
There has been no hostility between the fighters during fight week. Friday\u2019s press conference was a respectful affair, although Nishida did describe Goodman as \u201cthick\u201d while discussing the Aussie\u2019s build.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe called me a thick boy,\u201d Goodman grinned afterwards.<\/p>\n
\u201cSaid I was thicker than what he expected. He didn\u2019t have too much to say. It was more about his weight cut being easier at super bantamweight.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is what I expected.<\/p>\n
He is going to be a good boxer. A good mover.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe can dig in at times, but I don\u2019t think he\u2019ll be able to dig in like I\u2019ll be able to on Sunday night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nishida, a former IBF bantamweight champion, has lost only once as a pro \u2013 to fellow Japanese star Junto Nakatani. Now fighting at super bantamweight, he will have the home crowd behind him as he attempts to become a world champion again.<\/p>\n
Goodman believes he has the tools to beat him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think across the board, I\u2019ve got enough to beat him,\u201d he said. \u201cI think I\u2019ve got many many ways to win this one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Winning a world title in Japan would carry extra meaning for the Australian, who spoke this week about wanting to follow greats Lionel Rose, Johnny Famechon and Andrew Moloney.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking to emulate what those guys have done. Make myself a world champion,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat a better way to do it than over here.\u201d<\/p>\n
After two cancelled shots at Inoue and a near miss against Ball, Goodman is finally within touching distance of a world title.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just itching,\u201d<\/p>\n
