{"id":906524,"date":"2026-09-26T19:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-26T19:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/906524\/"},"modified":"2026-09-26T19:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-26T19:00:10","slug":"wedderburn-hazard-reduction-burn-destroys-rfs-truck-19-assessed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/906524\/","title":{"rendered":"Wedderburn hazard reduction burn destroys RFS truck, 19 assessed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A planned hazard reduction burn in Sydney\u2019s southwest turned dangerous on Saturday afternoon, damaging multiple RFS trucks and leaving 19 people assessed after the fire broke containment at Wedderburn.<\/p>\n<p>The blaze erupted on Katanna Rd in Wedderburn, in the Campbelltown area, when winds strengthened about 4pm and pushed the burn out of control.<\/p>\n<p>One RFS truck was destroyed and two others were seriously damaged after flames overran the vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics assessed 19 people at the scene, with one person treated for smoke inhalation.
