George Russell survived late pressure from Max Verstappen to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, marking his third victory of the year.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
The Briton converted pole position into the win, managing two safety car restarts following a chaotic period late in the race at the Baku City Circuit.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Verstappen did his utmost to try and secure a first victory of 2026, but had to settle for second ahead of Isack Hadjar in third for a double Red Bull podium.\u00a0\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
After the race, some penalties were applied – including for Franco Colapinto, whose unserved 10-second time penalty has been converted to a five-place grid drop for Sepang.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Gabriel Bortoleto picked up a 10-second time penalty for overtaking under yellow flags during the race, dropping him from 13th to 15th.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
