{"id":90735,"date":"2025-08-23T20:08:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-23T20:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/90735\/"},"modified":"2025-08-23T20:08:05","modified_gmt":"2025-08-23T20:08:05","slug":"quartararo-and-bastianini-penalised-for-sprint-incidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/90735\/","title":{"rendered":"Quartararo and Bastianini penalised for Sprint incidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the start of the first ever Tissot Sprint in Hungary, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) was in the thick of a multiple rider incident that saw Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) suffer contact and a number of other riders forced into avoiding action. Quartararo was deemed to have caused \u201ca dangerous situation and contact involving rider #23\u201d \u2013 and for that the Frenchman has been handed a Long Lap penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for Bastianini, he then made his own Saturday afternoon even worse. After suffering that contact from Quartararo and dropping down the order, the #23 was involved in a second incident \u2013 this time with Johann Zarco (LCR Honda Castrol). For that, it\u2019s Bastianini who\u2019s been penalised \u2013 and after having previously done similar this season, it\u2019s a second offence.
