Adidas just dropped its limited-edition Pok\u00e9mon collection<\/a>, the latest in a pretty wild list of collaborations celebrating the franchise\u2019s 30th anniversary. <\/p>\n

The full collection includes over 10 new designs for a mix of the company\u2019s most popular sneaker styles, including the Samba and Superstar II. Each shoe has an entirely distinct look inspired by a specific Pok\u00e9mon, and the stars of the show aren\u2019t too surprising.<\/p>\n

Prices range from $60 to $180 with full family sizing. Even better? Every sneaker is available to buy right now. <\/p>\n

As you can tell, the collection includes a mix of full evolution lines (i.e. Charmander to Charizard) as well as some particularly iconic individual Pok\u00e9mon like Pikachu and Mewtwo. <\/p>\n

I got the chance to check out three specific shoes from the collection of time, and let\u2019s just say I\u2019m impressed. I don\u2019t typically go for the most colorful looks in the world, but the designs have a range of boldness that lets you pick a vibe that goes best with your style. And, of course, based on whichever Pok\u00e9mon you like best. <\/p>\n

Adidas x Pokemon 30th Anniversary\"\"<\/p>\n

The Mewtwo Superstars are a soft purple with a sleek iridescent sheen. While every shoe includes a token-esque shoelace charm with its featured Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s face, this pair also comes with a funky \u201cliquid\u201d tag featuring the legendary\u2019s classic Psystrike<\/a> move. On the bolder side, the Charmander sneakers show a full graphic of the Pok\u00e9mon blowing some literal Ember<\/a> into the iconic Samba stripes. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s cool to see each shoe get its own little deep cut reference to a Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s type and even specific moveset. The (new!) illustrations of each Pokemon are all high quality, and the shoes themselves are, as you\u2019d expect, pretty darn comfy.<\/p>\n

As a limited-edition collection, it\u2019s worth noting that stock may be limited. The Pok\u00e9mon TCG side of things has been plagued by an ongoing scalping crisis<\/a> that, these days, seems to extend to anything<\/a> connected to the Nintendo franchise. <\/p>\n

Speaking of, the collection forms part of some pretty extensive celebrations for Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s 30th anniversary. The beloved media powerhouse currently stands as the highest-grossing franchise of all time, and has already launched unique anniversary collaborations with Puma<\/a>, Crocs<\/a>, and even Krispy Kreme<\/a>. I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll see plenty of more announcements through the end of the year, which, at the very least, will bring us slightly closer to the next mainline Pokemon generation<\/a>. <\/p>\n
