Phoebe Burgess has revealed she has not dated anyone since the breakdown of her marriage to former NRL player, Sam Burgess.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with the Stellar podcast Something To Talk About, the mum of two opens up about \u2018why she has not been on a date in seven years.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy life isn\u2019t overly app attractive. What photo would I pick? The kids and me at school drop-off? Me at an event? There\u2019s not one photo,\u201d she told Something To Talk About host Sarrah Le Marquand.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would judge any man who would click on my profile, put it that way. I would really ask questions.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then the bio: 37, divorced, everyone knows about it. Uh, two children. I don\u2019t get weekends off \u2013 ever \u2013 so you\u2019ll have to work around that. And I live at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing appealing in that.\u201d<\/p>\n

After her very public and well-chronicled divorce, the 35-year-old said her \u201csafe place\u201d is now with her children, daughter Poppy, nine, and son Billy, seven, who she shares with her ex-husband.<\/p>\n

Sam is now a coach in England, and has remarried and started a new family \u2013 he and his now-wife Lucy have welcomed two children, with a third on the way. <\/p>\n

While Burgess admitted to frustrations at having to constantly navigate the headlines, \u201cnew life\u201d was to be celebrated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was irritating that our lives and names would be intrinsically woven together for all of eternity, it feels like sometimes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s all the ways that you feel you should handle or cope with things \u2013 and the way you do \u2013 and I think I walk that fine line.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only thing I lean back on is what it means to Pops and Bill. That\u2019s my safe place.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith anyone who is bringing new life into the world, you celebrate it. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf we\u2019re told about it or it comes up in the kids\u2019 lives, the only thing you can do is be deeply happy for someone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about the marriage split between AFL player Lachie Neale and his wife Jules that has dominated the news cycle for the last several months, the content creator told Something To Talk About, \u201cI think whenever something similar to what we went through happens to someone else, there\u2019s this knee-jerk reaction to go, \u2018Oh, I wonder what Phoebe thinks of that.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s something that so many women go through. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut when it is scrutinised and laid out for the whole world to see, to enjoy, to be entertained by and to judge, that\u2019s a different beast.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also saw similarities in Jules being asked whether she would get rid of her married surname \u2013 something Burgess gets asked to this day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose decisions can often be quite rushed. In the immediate aftermath \u2026 that was something that people were really fixated on,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI made a decision back to this day: that the children were going to go through enough fundamental, earth-shattering change, but they didn\u2019t need to be one name while I was another.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a few years of keeping a low profile, Burgess is ready to step back into the spotlight with the launch of a new podcast co-hosted by Below Deck: Mediterranean star Hannah Ferrier.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been so rigid in keeping some things in place because I was wanting to protect [the kids],\u201d Burgess said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s not control. It\u2019s to make sure that what was important was set up and safe before going off and doing something new and exciting for myself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s good. Mummy\u2019s off to work. It\u2019s healthy for them. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think they need to see my tail lights every now and then.\u201d<\/p>\n
