US actor Chad Lowe\u2019s daughter Fiona has died. She was 13.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance,\u201d her family shared in a statement to Page Six<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n The statement concluded by providing a suicide and crisis lifeline number in the US, urging people to call \u201cif you or someone you know is struggling with mental health\u201d. <\/p>\n Lowe shared Fiona with his wife, producer Kim Painter. The two are also parents to daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.<\/p>\n Parents at the school Fiona attended were sent an email from the principal Wednesday morning informing them a student had died, the email did not name the student.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with deep sadness that I am calling you to advise you of the death of one of our students,\u201d the email, obtained by Page Six, said. \u201cOur sincere condolences go out to the student\u2019s family, friends and teachers,\u201d it continued.<\/p>\n \u201cCounsellors are available to meet with students and staff who may need emotional support during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor, 58, last posted about Fiona on Instagram in November 2025, in honour of her birthday.<\/p>\n \u201cCelebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!\u201d he wrote<\/a> alongside a picture of her smiling and wearing cowboy boots. \u201cKeep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!\u201d<\/p>\n In February 2025, Lowe shared pics of his daughters visiting what was left of their childhood home in Los Angeles, which was completely destroyed in the Palisades fire.<\/p>\n In one of the pics, all three of his daughters put their arms around each other.<\/p>\n \u201cThe way they\u2019ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life\u2019s greatest joy and privilege.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor talked about being a girl dad on the \u201cStill Here Hollywood\u201d podcast in August 2024, again calling it a privilege.<\/p>\n \u201cIt takes what I\u2019ve known intellectually about women and all of equality and the glass ceiling that\u2019s there, and how it\u2019s a misogynistic world in a lot of ways \u2026 and it\u2019s put it in my heart, because I have three daughters,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd so I look at the world, really, from their perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n But he noted that it wasn\u2019t all \u201cdoom and gloom,\u201d and that society was changing.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I see how we\u2019re really becoming conscious of the role of women,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Lowe \u2014 who is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe \u2014 and Painter have been married since August 2010.<\/p>\n He was previously married to Hilary Swank, but they split in January 2006 after eight years of marriage.<\/p>\n This story originally appeared in Page Six<\/a> and was reproduced here with permission.<\/p>\n
