Now former WBO middleweight champion Denzel Bentley has vacated his title and signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing.<\/p>\n

Denzel Bentley vacates WBO middleweight title and signs multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing<\/p>\n

Bentley\u2019s former promoters, Queensberry, were present at the purse bid ceremony, but didn\u2019t submit a bid.<\/p>\n

Apparently unhappy with the prospect of facing Hernandez for roughly $160,000 (80 per cent of the total bid), Bentley has chosen instead to discard his WBO strap in favor of signing with Zuffa.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As reported first by Dan Rafael<\/a>, Bentley, 22-3-1 (18 KOs), of Wandsworth, London, UK, will make his Zuffa debut at their Zuffa Boxing 12 event, headlined by former WBO cruiserweight champ Chris Billam-Smith\u2019s 10-round battle against Cheavon Clarke on November 7 at the Copper Box Arena in London.<\/p>\n

An opponent for Bentley hasn\u2019t been announced yet.<\/p>\n

Per WBO rules, to fill the title vacancy Hernandez, 11-0 (9 KOs), will likely be directed to negotiate with No. 3-ranked Vito Mielnicki Jnr as the highest available contender. WBO No. 2-ranked Tim Tszyu is currently in advanced talks to face WBA champion Erislandy Lara.<\/p>\n
