Pictures<\/p>\n<p>Skydance chief David Ellison has reportedly asked James Gunn and Peter Safran to keep running DC Studios four years after the pair were first announced for the job.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/10\/james-gunn-peter-safran-dc-studios-staying-1237145519\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a>, they will continue to lead the film, TV, and comic book production hub after Paramount closes its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery next week.<\/p>\n<p>The pair had a recent meeting with Ellison about their future, and things went well.  Ellison previously visited the set of Gunn\u2019s \u201cSuperman\u201d sequel \u201cMan of Tomorrow,\u201d which filmed earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>All film units, including Paramount and Warner Bros., are to report to Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein. <\/p>\n<p>Gunn and Safran\u2019s DC Studios has had a mixed track record.  Both \u201cSuperman\u201d and \u201cLanterns\u201d have done very well, but \u201cSupergirl\u201d was a critical and commercial bomb, while \u201cPeacemaker\u201d and \u201cCreature Commandos\u201d were well liked and did enough viewership to garner second seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Next from the studio is \u201cClayface\u201d later this month, which is headed for a $23-33 million opening weekend, and next year\u2019s \u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Warner Bros.
