A MotoGP<\/a> camera operator has narrowly avoided being his by Pedro Acosta\u2019s KTM in a crash that has raised safety concerns at the Hungarian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

The Balaton Park track has had several safety measures introduced since welcoming back a MotoGP even for the first time since 1992 this weekend.<\/p>\n

But there are still concerns over the safety of the track, particularly at the high-speed section of turn eight, which saw a number of crashes during qualifying on Saturday (local time), including that of Acosta.<\/p>\n

Chatter on the front tyre of the 21-year-old Spaniard\u2019s bike caused him to lose control and slide out onto the gravel.<\/p>\n

As he shot across the stretch of gravel between the track and the barriers, Acosta managed to separate himself from the bike, which cannoned into the fencing and vaulted into the air.<\/p>\n

Scary footage captured of the moment shows the RC16 actually hitting a camera, whose operator almost became collateral damage.<\/p>\n

Luckily he was not injured in the incident, despite getting a shock, but it\u2019s done nothing to allay concerns about the safety of the track.<\/p>\n

\u201cAcosta\u2019s crash was very nearly a tragedy today. This circuit simply isn\u2019t appropriate for MotoGP,\u201d MotoGP reporter Simon Patterson said.<\/p>\n

NASCAR commentator Seth Eggart added: \u201cMeanwhile, in MotoGP, the racing world miraculously avoided a tragedy today when Acosta\u2019s bike hit a camera position.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ironically, the crash happened just after Balaton Park Circuit Board Member Gianpaolo Matteucci said how thrilled he was with how the event was going.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted with the event so far and the way the riders have reacted to the circuit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who had tested here were already impressed with it, and those for whom it was new this weekend have expressed very similar views.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe word \u2018unique\u2019 is one we are hearing from the riders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey all love challenges and it is obvious our circuit has offered them this. Today the fans were certainly entertained and I am sure it will be the same tomorrow for the grand prix.\u201d<\/p>\n

Championship leader Marc Marquez was in complete control for the sprint later on Saturday, winning from pole by over two seconds.<\/p>\n
