Ed Sheeran<\/a> has hit back at personal attacks from his cousin over the Loop Tour controversy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The singer addressed the simmering family tension as he hit the stage <\/a>in Atlanta on October 3, where he responded to comments made by Jethro Sheeran<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ed Sheeran has broken his silence, addressing the constant jabs from his estranged cousin Jethro. \u00a0Instagram\/@lumieredarlings<\/p>\n

\u201cThe other text messages were, like, from a family member who I haven\u2019t spoken to in a very long time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou might have seen [my relative] recently on social media.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Sheeran didn\u2019t mention his cousin by name, Jethro has been vocal online<\/a> and weighed in on the disaster surrounding the Loop Tour, kicked off by Macklemore\u2019s \u2018Free Palestine\u2019 comments<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m ashamed of my cousin Ed,\u201d Jethro wrote in a September 17 social media post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally, the world and all his fans see through him. He\u2019s not a good person, I don\u2019t like his music, so I can\u2019t say he\u2019s even a good artist. He\u2019s honestly a selfish individual with malicious, cunning ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Ed didn\u2019t address the comments publicly, only the brief mention at his latest show, his cousin has doubled down during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored in late September.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were pretty close. But early on, I saw the snake in him,\u201d Jethro claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s very talented and people think I\u2019m jealous. But jealous of what? His looks? His guitar? His singing? \u2026 Seeing what he did to Macklemore I believe he kicked him off that show. I believe he did it with his team and then he blamed the promoter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jethro Sheeran has doubled down on the comments he\u2019s made publicly about his cousin the fallout of his show controversy. \u00a0Instagram\/@alonestarsheeran<\/p>\n

When Macklemore was kicked off the tour following his comments, Sheeran\u2019s other opening acts all decided to walk away in a show of solidarity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The show in Atlanta over the weekend also featured one of his first \u201cspecial guests\u201d to perform, and it\u2019s one of Sheeran\u2019s musical heroes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Multiple social media reports confirmed that The Fray\u2019s former frontman Isaac Slade performed an abbreviated set before Sheeran\u2019s headlining performance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.<\/p>\n

Slade performed the band\u2019s well-known hits like How to Save a Life and You Found Me, and reportedly told the crowd he was \u201chonoured to be here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Macklemore was removed from Sheeran\u2019s tour over his \u2018Free Palestine\u2019 comments, and it\u2019s kicked off weeks of ongoing controversy. \u00a0Getty<\/p>\n

He also addressed the controversy surrounding Sheeran.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody seems to be taking sides in this world and that\u2019s good,\u201d Slade said from the stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s happening over there [in Gaza] is wrong but if we\u2019re going to get through it, we\u2019re going to need people to step into that middle place, that common ground. That bonfire in the middle of the field that sees both sides, that understands that peace is not a lack of conflict. Peace is not a blank canvas that we need to guard and be polite.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Peace] holds enough beauty, enough tragedy, enough sorrow, enough joy and life if we learn how to integrate it and hold each other in balance. We will find a way through this together.\u201d<\/p>\n
