\n\tPARIS \u2014 Perpetuating the love affair between fashion and art, the new Dior<\/a> cruise campaign<\/a> captures Jennifer Lawrence<\/a>, Greta Lee, Taylor Russell and Drew Starkey admiring some of the star attractions at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.<\/p>\n

\n\tCreative director Jonathan Anderson<\/a> presented the collection<\/a> in May against the backdrop of the museum\u2019s new wing designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe four Dior<\/a> brand ambassadors were photographed by Sam Rock, who had the actors \u201cplaying\u201d themselves as they wandered through the galleries, contemplating works of art including Claude Monet\u2019s \u201cWater Lilies\u201d or a Jacob van Ruisdael landscape.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccessories are featured prominently in the images, with Russell touting the triangular-shaped Dior Initials Hobo, while Lee carries a two-handled satchel dubbed the Dior Double.<\/p>\n

\n\tStarkey wears the oversize Dior Double-Up Messenger and a plaid shirt from the brand\u2019s collaboration with artist Ed Ruscha, identical to the one worn by Anderson when he took his bow after his spring 2027 show in Paris on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe campaign plays with the way images are mediated in contemporary culture. Are the actors acting for the camera, or not? Is that a shirt, or an artwork?\u201d the brand said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tSince taking over as creative director of Dior last year, Anderson has collaborated with contemporary artists including Sheila Hicks and Magdalene Odundo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis debut collection for the house<\/a> was presented against the backdrop of two still lives by 18th-century painter Jean Sim\u00e9on Chardin on loan from the Louvre museum.<\/p>\n

\n\tOlivier Gabet, director of the decorative arts department at the Louvre, noted at the time the show set reflected the brand\u2019s deep roots in the art world, which go back to founder Christian Dior\u2019s early career as a gallerist.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think [Anderson is] really going to put the focus back on the essence of luxury, and this is a perfect demonstration of that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe full Dior cruise campaign will be released on Oct. 22 to coincide with the arrival of the collection in stores.<\/p>\n
