A new theory has emerged about The Karl Stefanovic Show’s social media presence and why Instagram is being flooded with content from the podcast despite current legal proceedings.

Last month, it was revealed that Karl Stefanovic and his podcast business partner Keshnee Kemp Ibrahim had fallen out and are currently embroiled in a court dispute to decide whether the company will be wound up or bought out.

Ibrahim alleged in court documents that Stefanovic ran their 123 Podcast Pty Ltd venture in an “oppressive” and “unfairly prejudicial … or unfairly discriminatory” way and claimed he was trying to push her out.

Since then, Stefanovic has been locked out of his eponymous podcast’s social media accounts and has ceased sitting down for new interviews.

However, fans of the show have been inundated with content from The Karl Stefanovic Show on Instagram, with excerpts of interviews recorded prior to Stefanovic and Ibrahim’s fallout being shared on the platform.

Clips from Stefanovic’s most popular interviews, from Aussie billionaire Adrian Portelli to controversial conspiracy theorist Pete Evans, are being promoted on the page despite their old timestamps.

Furthermore, some of the captions have been written in the first person, as if Stefanovic himself is writing them.

“You legends had so many questions for Pete Evans after our last interview, so we had to get him back on the show,” one post read, while other posts referred to “Karl” in the third person.

Now, Media Diary has floated a possible explanation for the bombardment of Instagram podcast clips, claiming that Ibrahim may be driving the push of content to fill her own pockets.

The publication points out that it is very likely that Ibrahim will sell her 45 per cent stake of the company to Stefanovic, particularly as there is no Karl Stefanovic Show without its namesake.

With the company only being valued this October, Ibrahim could be releasing more content on social media as a way to maximise the amount of money Stefanovic will be forced to pay her out, according to Media Diary.

The wild theory comes amid a rough year for Stefanovic, who was axed by Channel Nine from the Today Show in June following his interview with controversial right-wing activist Tommy Robinson.

A network spokesperson said at the time that the longtime host, who helmed the show for around two decades, and Nine had agreed that it was “no longer possible for him to continue hosting the Today Show at the same time as his independent podcast”.
