{"id":917375,"date":"2026-10-05T20:44:13","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T20:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/917375\/"},"modified":"2026-10-05T20:44:13","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T20:44:13","slug":"aussie-unleashes-on-labor-government-asks-how-much-more-financial-pressure-can-australians-take-before-something-has-to-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/917375\/","title":{"rendered":"Aussie unleashes on Labor government, asks &#8216;how much more&#8217; financial pressure can Australians take before &#8216;something has to change&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fed-up Australian has slammed the Labor government for what he calls the relentless financial pressure it is putting on people, asking &#8220;how much more are we supposed to take&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing his frustration in a video posted to TikTok, the Australian man posed a question to the Labor government, asking: &#8220;How much more can the ordinary Australian take?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He captioned the post: &#8220;Families are doing it tough, and people are fed up with feeling like they\u2019re working harder just to stand still.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Something has to change, and whoever is in government needs to be held accountable for making everyday life more affordable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Many users, suffering higher interest rates and living costs, left comments agreeing with his question.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How much more are the Australian families supposed to absorb?&#8221; the man asked in the video.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Groceries are next level, power is through the roof, mortgage, rent, you name it &#8211; fuel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said wages aren&#8217;t keeping up with the rising cost of living, making it harder and harder for everyday Australians to stay afloat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everything is just climbing &#8211; wages aren&#8217;t,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And the RBA just smashes rates up to a 15-year high. Stressing more families out like you wouldn&#8217;t believe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Then this is the part that gets me. People are just working their asses off and doing everything they&#8217;re supposed to do.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are all struggling &#8211; just to keep their heads above water.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said the number of Australians wanting to ditch life Down Under for one overseas is rising.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;ve got the Australian people moving overseas because Australia is just becoming too expensive to even live in,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So here&#8217;s my question &#8211; how much more can the ordinary Aussie family take before something has to change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Commenters rallied behind the man in droves, saying they &#8220;can&#8217;t keep up&#8221; and are &#8220;at breaking point&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m sinking, I can&#8217;t keep up, I&#8217;m broke,&#8221; one person commented.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I work two jobs full time and part time. I&#8217;m about to lose my unit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/aee8ad48500937b98c9dac90462b3000.jpeg\" data-sctrack=\"op-poster-img\" alt=\"\u2018Gotten worse on his watch\u2019: Chalmers points the finger after RBA decision\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Another commenter said although they have &#8220;never worked harder&#8221;, they have &#8220;never been poorer&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m at breaking point,&#8221; they added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A third commented: &#8220;Let&#8217;s not forget that while we struggle, our politicians are getting their big fat paychecks &#8211; it&#8217;s a joke.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s terrible. We are thinking of leaving the country. We can&#8217;t afford to live here &#8230;. living costs in Australia are beyond a joke,&#8221; wrote a fourth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One commenter looked towards the future of the country, saying: &#8220;There will be no middle class. Rich or poor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The all-too-familiar take comes after Founder of research firm McCrindle, Mark McCrindle, said Australians are doing &#8220;the right thing&#8221; with their money, but still &#8220;not getting ahead&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com.au\/politics\/australian-politics\/labor-suffers-inflation-blow-as-further-rate-rises-loom-for-mortgage-holders\/news-story\/363b9b92d9fdb1c21129036048a0b598\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Mr McCrindle said the latest decision to raise the RBA\u00a0<\/a><a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com.au\/politics\/australian-politics\/labor-suffers-inflation-blow-as-further-rate-rises-loom-for-mortgage-holders\/news-story\/363b9b92d9fdb1c21129036048a0b598\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">rate\u00a0<\/a>would bring people&#8217;s financial pressures \u201cinto sharper focus\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe latest adjustment to the cash rate brings the financial realities facing Australian consumers into sharper focus,\u201d Mr McCrindle said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor households balancing repayments, everyday expenses and longer-term goals, today&#8217;s decision adds pressure to their financial considerations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt highlights their perplexing financial challenge: that they are doing the right things with money but are still
