(ABC News: Erin Somerville)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">He was treated by paramedics and taken in a critical condition to hospital, where he died on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">NSW Police Commander Paul Smith said the investigation had become a homicide probe, after what he described as an intense week of inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a stabbing that has become a homicide \u2026 we need someone behind bars,&#8221;  he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Commander Smith said the victim&#8217;s family was devastated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;You can only imagine what they&#8217;re going through.
